Following on from the success of Greens in Constantia, Park Street
is now able to offer city dwellers the same relaxed ambience and
chic décor that have made Greens such a popular venue. Situated in
a listed building (that was once an old inn), the interior has
been carefully renovated to retain several important features such
as the exquisite pressed ceiling in the central dining area, and
an old traditional fireplace which contrasts superbly with the
sophisticated glamour of the bar. The well-positioned open-plan
kitchen offers diners a view of "kitchen theatre" whilst ensuring
excellent standards of food preparation. |
The interior is spacious and inviting and is decorated in a
palette of earthly colours to compliment the wooden floors,
gas-fired stone fireplace, and black and white prints on the
walls. The large outside terrace offers views of Signal Hill on
one side and the hustle and bustle of Kloof Street on the other.
Weather permitting, it is a great venue to sit and watch the world
go by, whether you are enjoying a leisurely late morning breakfast
or early evening dinner. The bar area is popular for sundowners or
a late night snack, and offers seating at the bar as well as
comfortable upholstered couches. |
Start the day with breakfast on the terrace - those with a hearty
appetite will enjoy the traditional English version, whilst the
health conscious can opt for fresh fruit, muesli and yoghurt.
Freshly baked scones and cake are available throughout the day to
savour with a cup of freshly brewed Lavazza Italian coffee, or a
traditional afternoon tea. In addition to the impressive selection
of salads and substantial foccacia breads, there are excellent
lunch time specials such as tuna steak with nicoise salad, or
yellowtail crusted with peppercorns. Main course recommendations
are the superb beef burgers with a variety of accompaniments,
fresh line fish, or a selection of gourmet pizzas such as the
smoked chicken, brie and cranberry. |

From Muizenberg take the M3 and De Waal Dr into town. From De Waal
follow Jutland into Mill, Annandale and Orange Streets. At the
robots turn left into Rheede and left into Kloof Street. Turn
right into Park Road from Kloof Street.
